Actor Cole Brings Plenty, the nephew of Yellowstone star Mo Brings Plenty, has been found dead.

The 27-year-old was reported missing in the US state of Kansas after having last been seen on Easter Sunday (local time), but he wasn’t officially named a “missing person” until Tuesday (local time).

He was then named as a person of interest regarding a domestic violence incident, which happened on the same day he went missing.

An announcement from Kansas’ Johnson County Sheriff’s Office on Friday revealed that police discovered his body at 11.45am (local time) after being called about an unoccupied vehicle.

He was found in a “wooded area away from the vehicle”, police said.

Circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated.

Plenty’s father, Joe Brings Plenty, confirmed the news via a statement shared by Mo on his social media.

“I am deeply saddened to confirm that my son, Cole, has been found and is no longer with us,” the statement read.

“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone for the prayers and positive thoughts you sent for Cole.

“We would also like to thank everyone who came to walk beside us as we searched for my son and provided the resources we needed to expand our search areas. I learned this week how many people knew the goodness in Cole’s heart and loved him.”

His father asked for privacy to “process” the grief.

Following his death, his talent agency, Phirgun Mair, shared their shock over his death.

“I will post something more fitting when I can put together the right words. Not the news we were hoping for,” a post on the company’s Facebook page read.

On Easter Sunday, officers responded to reports of a female screaming for help at an apartment but before they arrived at the scene the suspect had already fled on foot.

Authorities said traffic cameras identified Plenty as the fleeing suspect, which led police to submit an affidavit to the local district attorney for the arrest of Cole following the incident. “We’ve identified him as the suspect, have probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies,” the Lawrence Police Department wrote in a release on Tuesday (local time).

Plenty acted in two episodes of the Yellowstone spin-off as Pete Plenty Clouds, and he also worked as a model.

According to his Instagram page, he was studying at Haskell Indian Nations University when he died.
