A person has been killed whereas waterskiing within the annual Southern 80 ski race on the Murray River close to the Victoria–NSW border.

Emergency companies have been referred to as to an space close to Perricoota Rd, Moama, about 10am on Sunday following reviews a person had been severely injured.

On arrival, Victoria Ambulance paramedics positioned a person who had died on the scene. He’s but to be formally recognized.

In an announcement, Moama Water Sports activities Membership president Steve Shipp stated the skier, who was competing within the race, fell and couldn’t be revived.

“Racing was instantly suspended and since been cancelled,” Mr Shipp stated.

“The membership is co-operating with NSW Police and Transport for NSW – Maritime, of their investigation into the incident.

“As a ski racing household we’re right here to help the affected household and staff members as nicely the broader ski racing group on this terribly unhappy time.”
