Shoppers nuts for wild detail on Kmart receipt

One Kmart shopper has been left stunned after she snagged 18 items for less that a $2 coin.

Kmart stores are able to create their own discounts on what they see fit, with one lucky Western Australian customer snapping up item items for 10 cents each.

The shopper took to popular budgeting group Markdown Addicts Australia to share her find, saying she was experiencing “lasting excitement” over her find last week.

“Clearance items all 10c each! Including three packs of baby outfits. Assuming they had too much of the same stock,” the woman shared.

Kmart sales vary from store to store, and a price drop of this magnitude is typically associated with a store having excess or older stock. This sale was only at this store and it is unclear if it is ongoing.

She said she seemed to be in the right place at the right time because she happened to walk past while the staff member was discounting the price and items were “gone in seconds”.

“I always collect these kinds of bargains for gifts and donating. Thanks for the support,” she told her fellow bargain hunters who were impressed by the haul.

“Wow and I thought the $2 rack was amazing value,” one shopper said.

Another added: “Woohoo!!! That is AMAZING.”

It’s not the first time that a shopper has spotted a deal like this at Kmart, with one TikTok user, known as @claudiashops, encouraged fellow bargain hunters to get to their local store after discovering that hers was selling popular items for the price of a silver coin in January.

She explained that it wasn’t just “wrapping paper and baubles” but people could snap up dining sets, glassware, mugs and more for the wildly low price.

Claudia’s favourite item that she was able to nab from the sale range was a set of four Christmas dessert bowls.

The video, which she began with “runnn to Kmart!”, was filmed at the Southport store in Queensland.
