An Adelaide grandmother has won a whopping $2,269,061 in a Keno Spot 10 draw after playing the same numbers for eight years.

The newly minted millionaire scored her fortune at Paralowie Village Lotteries in the city’s north on Wednesday.

The woman described the moment as “magical” saying all the other shoppers present clapped for her when she realised she’d won.

“I’m still in a bit of shock,” she said, according to a statement from The Lott, which runs Keno. “Everyone clapped for me when I realised, I’d won. It was so wonderful. I always visit Paralowie Village Lotteries. It’s my local store!

“I’m still pinching myself. I can’t believe it has happened.”

The grandmother said her life-changing win had followed a few near-misses, saying she’d been one number off “a couple of times”.

She said she’s played the same Keno numbers every since winning $20 in a Powerball draw.

The grandmother has plans to use her winnings to donate to charities, support her grandchildren, purchase a house, and go on a holiday.

The big win adds to a larger trend in South Australia, where in 2023, there were more than 1.52 million Keno wins totalling more than $87.5 million, according to The Lott.

This win is one of the three Spot 10 prizes claimed during that period, with other notable Keno and lottery wins in South Australia mentioned, highlighting the luck of local residents in recent lottery draws.
